John Jones Clarke was a Roxbury (Boston, Mass.) lawyer who was a member of the Massachusetts House of Representatives in 1836 and 1837 and a member of the Massachusetts State Senate in 1853. Clarke served as Roxbury's first mayor in 1846. He also was one of the founders and the first president of the Roxbury Gas Company and for a time was one of the directors of the Metropolitan Railroad.
